| ASMFC Advances Strong Alternatives for Amendment to the River Herring FMP |

At the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission Winter Meeting, the Shad and River Herring Management Board voted to develop the alternatives for Amendment 2 to the River Herring Management Plan that were supported by the Herring Alliance
The Management Board will develop alternatives including additional monitoring of river herring bycatch in at-sea fisheries and bycatch caps on river herring in these fisheries, both of which were strongly supported by the Herring Alliance in the development of the Public Information Document.
